Description

This ‘Achari tikki’ is prepared with combination of paneer and mushrooms, which give a exclusive flavor to the dish. It is usually prepared in the tandoor but you can also prepare this on a tava following this simple recipe.

Ingredients
    Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Hung Curd
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Pickle Gravy (method follows)
  • 1 teaspoon Gram Flour
  • 1 cup Mushroom (whole boiled button mushrooms with stem removed)
  • 6 Paneer Cubes
  • 1/4 cup Bell Pepper (diced into cubes)
Instructions
    Method
  1. For pickle gravy, grind a small amount of any pickle in a mixer with very little water.   This is used to give achar (pickle) flavor to the dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl take hung curd, salt, chilli powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, pickle gravy and besan. Mix all these ingredients well without adding water.

  3. Add mushrooms and mix so that they are well coated with the paste. Take the mushrooms on a plate. Add paneer cubes to the same paste and mix again. Take them separately on a plate. Leave it for 15 minutes.

  4. Heat a tava and add 1 tsp oil and spread it. Place mushrooms and paneer on the tava. Fry over a low flame till golden and reverse. Fry and take them on a plate.

  5. Now mix the bell peppers with the leftover paste and fry them on the tava for few minutes on both sides.

  6. Take a toothpick and prick one diced bell pepper, one paneer cube and one mushroom. Repeat the same for all pieces. Serve hot.
