Date fruit has a lot of medicinal benefits and can be easily digested. Khoa Khajoor Roll (Khoya Khajoor Rolls) is prepared during festivals and the combination of Khoa and dates give a rich taste and nice color to the sweet. Poppy seeds give a unique taste with each bite.
Khoa is a very popular ingredient for a number of North Indian sweets. Koha is prepared from milk which is thickened by heating in an open iron pan.
Khoya Khajoor Rolls, mouthwatering and healthy sweet is my mother's recipe. Dates provide natural sweetness, khoya helps to form the texture of this delicious dessert, while dry fruit mix offers an enticing combination of flavor-rich goodness!
Boil milk in a pan and cook the dates in milk till soft and milk is reduced. Cool and make a paste. Keep aside.
In another pan, fry khova on a low flame for sometime. Then add the date paste, sugar and ghee and sauté till the sugar melts and the mixture leaves sides.
Cool the mixture for rolling conveniently. Take a small amount of mixture and roll it between your palms. Flatten both the ends; roll them on roasted poppy seeds and serve.
