Vazhakkappam or Pazham pori also known as ethakka appam and Bekachi is a fritter food with ripened bananas. The dish originates from South India, where it’s most prominent in Kerala cuisine; however the name can be found across languages like Kannada for Balekayi bajji (বিয়ক আPierre), Tamil Aratikaya banjia(same thing) Telugu Araviliya Bagha Purana Bhajiis called “AratiKaya” which literally translated means fried banana cake/puff.
