Method

  1. Mix and blend the rava idli ingredients well and leave it for 5 minutes. Now take a pan, heat oil and then add mustard seeds. When they start spluttering, add to rava idli batter.

  2. Now take idli cooker and grease it with oil. Now pour the idli batter in it and cook idli for 8 to 10 minutes in the cooker. Check before removing the idlis from the cooker if they are cooked.

  3. For Sambhar cook the dal with salt and turmeric powder. Now heat oil in a pan and fry all the chopped vegetables one by one in it.

  4. Now take fresh oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seed and fenugreek seeds and let them splutter. Now add spices like coriander powder, red chilly powder, salt, and fry it.

  5. Now add the cooked dal and the vegetables to it. After five minutes add tamarind paste and sambhar powder to it. Cook it for eight to ten minutes.

  6. Soak the idlis in sambhar after pouring into a bowl and serve hot.
