Boil 2 cups of water in a pan and when it boils well put split moong dal and cook until tender but do not mash too much.

Dissolve jaggery in 1/2 cup of water, strain to remove dust and heat this jaggery water on a stove and boil for some time.

Then add the cooked moong dal (along with water if any) stir well and cook until they combine and becomes thick.

Add cardamom powder and garnish with nuts and serve hot or cold. It can be served with cream or milk or can be had as it is.
