Boiled peanuts have a special taste. In this curry we are using Bengal gram along with peanuts. Whole red chilies and peppercorns are roasted and ground to spice the dish. This delicious curry can be had with chapatis or rice. Peanuts contain heart-healthy fat and can be generously used in various recipes.

Heat 1 tsp oil and fry channa dhal and urad dhal till brown. Add red chilies, peppercorns and fry. Cool and grind to a paste along with fresh coconut adding some water.

Heat remaining oil and crackle mustard, curry leaves and cumin. Add asafetida and fry for 2 seconds.

Add peanuts, Bengal Gram, chilles and mix well. Add some water. Stir in the ground masala paste and turmeric. Boil till the masala is blended well. Add salt to taste. Add some more water and boil if the gravy turns thick.

Garnish with coriander and serve hot with chapati or rice.
